Abstract
A computer system is provided that allows participants to submit agent data structures for processing. Each agent data structure includes a valuation function for a first resource and a property of a second resource. The computer system performs a dual sided evaluation process to determine when contra-sided agents match with one another. A match is determined by comparing results of valuation functions of the agent data structures.
Claims20
A computer system for dynamically matching transportation requests using multi-variable inputs with provided valuation functions, the computer system comprising:
- a memory configured to store a plurality of agent data structures, each agent data structure corresponding to a transportation participant, each agent data structure including:
- a valuation function that includes multiple different parameters that is configured to be used to calculate a result value for a transportation service based on evaluation of the valuation function using properties from a different agent data structure, and
- a plurality of properties, wherein at least one of the plurality of properties includes time data, distance data, weather data, and/or geographical location data;
- one or more processors coupled to the memory and configured to execute instructions to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, via a network interface and from different transportation participants, a plurality requests for transportation that are received via different computing devices associated with the different transportation participants;
- based on reception of each of the plurality of requests, adding, to the memory and as one of the plurality of agent data structures, an agent data structure;
- performing a pair-wise execution between different ones of the plurality of agent data structures, wherein the pair-wise execution includes performing a calculation between at least a first agent data structure of the plurality of agent data structures against a group of the plurality of agent data structures including:
- (a) for the valuation function of the first agent data structure, calculating a plurality of first results that are each based on evaluating the valuation function of the first agent data structure by using the plurality of properties from each of the different ones of in the group of the plurality of agent data structures, and
- (b) for each corresponding valuation function in the group, calculating a plurality of second results that are each based on evaluating the corresponding valuation function by using the plurality of properties from the first agent of the plurality of agent data structures;
- based on the pair-wise execution, determining a match between the first agent data structure and a second agent data structure that is included in the group of the plurality of agent data structures and responsively generating match data;
- transmitting, to a first participant computing system that is associated with the first agent data structure, a first confirmation message based on the determining of the match;
- and
- transmitting, to a second participant computing system that is associated with the second agent data structure, a second confirmation message based on the determining of the match.
A method of dynamically matching transportation requests using multi-variable inputs with provided valuation functions, the method comprising:
- storing, to a memory, a plurality of agent data structures, each agent data structure corresponding to a transportation participant, each agent data structure including:
- 1) a valuation function that includes multiple different parameters that is configured to be used to calculate a result value for a transportation service based on evaluation of the valuation function using properties from a different agent data structure, and 2) a plurality of properties, wherein at least one of the plurality of properties includes time data, distance data, weather data, and/or geographical location data;
- receiving, via a network interface and from different transportation participants, a plurality requests for transportation that are received via different computing devices associated with the different transportation participants;
- based on reception of each of the plurality of requests, adding, to the memory and as one of the plurality of agent data structures, an agent data structure;
- performing a pair-wise execution between different ones of the plurality of agent data structures, wherein the pair-wise execution includes performing a calculation between at least a first agent data structure of the plurality of agent data structures against a group of the plurality of agent data structures including:
- (a) for the valuation function of the first agent data structure, calculating a plurality of first results that are each based on evaluating the valuation function of the first agent data structure by using the plurality of properties from each of the different ones of in the group of the plurality of agent data structures, and
- (b) for each corresponding valuation function in the group, calculating a plurality of second results that are each based on evaluating the corresponding valuation function by using the plurality of properties from the first agent of the plurality of agent data structures;
- based on the pair-wise execution, determining a match between the first agent data structure and a second agent data structure that is included in the group of the plurality of agent data structures and responsively generating match data;
- transmitting, to a first participant computing system that is associated with the first agent data structure, a first confirmation message based on the determining of the match;
- and
- transmitting, to a second participant computing system that is associated with the second agent data structure, a second confirmation message based on the determining of the match.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing computer executable instructions for use with a computer system that includes a plurality of processing nodes that each include at least one hardware processor, the stored computer executable instructions comprising instructions that cause the computer system to perform operations including:
- storing, to a memory, a plurality of agent data structures, each agent data structure corresponding to a transportation participant, each agent data structure including:
- 1) a valuation function that includes multiple different parameters that is configured to be used to calculate a result value for a transportation service based on evaluation of the valuation function using properties from a different agent data structure, and 2) a plurality of properties, wherein at least one of the plurality of properties includes time data, distance data, weather data, and/or geographical location data;
- receiving, via a network interface and from different transportation participants, a plurality requests for transportation that are received via different computing devices associated with the different transportation participants;
- based on reception of each of the plurality of requests, adding, to the memory and as one of the plurality of agent data structures, an agent data structure;
