Abstract
Systems and methods for generating certified images and incident reports are disclosed. An image capture device can be used to capture an image and integrate metadata from camera sensors as well as other ancillary device sensors into the image. The image and its metadata can then be certified upon a check that the image and its metadata are authentic and unaltered. The image and its metadata can then be included in or as a part of an incident or other report describing an incident or event such as an accident or a crime. The image and/or incident report may be maintained at a cloud-based server for viewing, authorized editing, and subsequent distribution.
Claims21
A system for sensor and metadata management, the system comprising:
- a memory storing instructions;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory, wherein execution of the instructions by the processor causes the processor to:
- receive, from an image sensor, an image of a scene that is captured by the image sensor at a capture time;
- receive, from one or more sensors coupled to the image sensor, sensor data that is captured by the one or more sensors within a threshold time of the capture time, wherein the sensor data includes a distance to a portion of the scene identified by a distance sensor of the one or more sensors;
- generate, based on the sensor data, metadata corresponding to the image;
- generate a verification dataset corresponding to the image and the metadata;
- and
- output the image, the metadata, and the verification dataset.
A method of sensor and metadata management, the method comprising:
- receiving image of a scene captured using an image sensor at a capture time;
- receiving sensor data captured using one or more sensors within a threshold time of the capture time, wherein the one or more sensors are coupled to the image sensor, wherein the sensor data includes a distance to a portion of the scene identified by a distance sensor of the one or more sensors;
- generating, based on the sensor data, metadata corresponding to the image;
- generating a verification dataset corresponding to the image and the metadata;
- and
- outputting the image, the metadata, and the verification dataset.
