Abstract

The techniques can include accessing a graphical user interface that includes a first interactive field for receiving text and/or a second field for displaying text that is retrieved from the external system. The techniques may include iteratively: retrieving first information for a respective entity from a tabular data file using an index; providing the first information for the respective entity to the first interactive field of the graphical user interface; instructing the external system to retrieve second information for the respective entity in response to the first information; detecting the second information in the second field of the graphical user interface; adding the second information to the row in the tabular data file; detecting the data type for the second information; comparing the data type against the target data type; and/or determining whether to update the index for a subsequent iteration.

Dependent claims

A method for database management, the method comprising:

accessing, by a computing device and from an external system, a graphical user interface comprising at least a first interactive field for receiving text and a second field for displaying text that is retrieved from a database of the external system;
and
until a data type matches a target data type for a set of entities, iteratively performing:
retrieving, by the computing device, first information from a tabular data file using an index that identifies a row in the tabular data file for a respective entity of the set of entities, wherein each row in the tabular data file corresponds to a single entity of the set of entities;
providing, by the computing device, the first information for the respective entity to the first interactive field of the graphical user interface;
instructing, by the computing device, the external system to retrieve second information for the respective entity in response to the first information by simulating input to the graphical user interface;
detecting, by the computing device, the second information in the second field of the graphical user interface by:
locating, using a plurality of pixels of the graphical user interface, a key of a key-value pair in the second field, wherein the plurality of pixels represent the key;
and
determining a value of the key-value pair based on a location of the key, wherein at least a portion of the second information is displayed in the graphical user interface as the value;
adding, by the computing device, the second information to the row in the tabular data file;
detecting, by the computing device, the data type for the second information;
comparing, by the computing device, the data type against the target data type;
and
determining, by the computing device, whether to update the index for a subsequent iteration based at least in part on the comparing.

A computing device, comprising:

one or more memories;
and
one or more processors in communication with the one or more memories and configured to execute instructions stored in the one or more memories to perform:
accessing, by the computing device and from an external system, a graphical user interface comprising at least a first interactive field for receiving text and a second field for displaying text that is retrieved from a database;
and
until a data type matches a target data type for a set of entities, iteratively performing:
retrieving, by the computing device, first information from a tabular data file using an index that identifies a row in the tabular data file for a respective entity of the set of entities, wherein each row in the tabular data file corresponds to a single entity of the set of entities;
providing, by the computing device, the first information for the respective entity to the first interactive field of the graphical user interface;
instructing, by the computing device, the external system to retrieve second information for the respective entity in response to the first information by simulating input to the graphical user interface;
detecting, by the computing device, the second information in the second field of the graphical user interface by:
locating, using a plurality of pixels of the graphical user interface, a key of a key-value pair in the second field, wherein the plurality of pixels represent the key;
and
determining a value of the key-value pair based on a location of the key, wherein at least a portion of the second information is displayed in the graphical user interface as the value;
adding, by the computing device, the second information to the row in the tabular data file;
detecting, by the computing device, the data type for the second information;
comparing, by the computing device, the data type against the target data type;
and
determining, by the computing device, whether to update the index for a subsequent iteration based at least in part on the comparing.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a plurality of instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a computing device, cause the one or more processors to perform:

accessing, by the computing device and from an external system, a graphical user interface comprising at least a first interactive field for receiving text and a second field for displaying text that is retrieved from a database;
and
until a data type matches a target data type for a set of entities, iteratively performing:
retrieving, by the computing device, first information from a tabular data file using an index that identifies a row in the tabular data file for a respective entity of the set of entities, wherein each row in the tabular data file corresponds to a single entity of the set of entities;
providing, by the computing device, the first information for the respective entity to the first interactive field of the graphical user interface;
instructing, by the computing device, the external system to retrieve second information for the respective entity in response to the first information by simulating input to the graphical user interface;
detecting, by the computing device, the second information in the second field of the graphical user interface by:
locating, using a plurality of pixels of the graphical user interface, a key of a key-value pair in the second field, wherein the plurality of pixels represent the key;
and
determining a value of the key-value pair based on a location of the key, wherein at least a portion of the second information is displayed in the graphical user interface as the value;
adding, by the computing device, the second information to the row in the tabular data file;
detecting, by the computing device, the data type for the second information;
comparing, by the computing device, the data type against the target data type;
and
determining, by the computing device, whether to update the index for a subsequent iteration based at least in part on the comparing.
