Abstract

A system generates one or more finite state models based on one or more programming policies. The system analyzes a first element of source code by applying the one or more finite state models to the first element, and stores a summary of the analysis. The system analyzes a second element of the source code, where the second element references the first element, using the finite state models and the stored summary. The system generates a report to indicate the source code's conformity to the programming policies based on the analysis of the first and second elements.

Dependent claims

A computer-implemented method, comprising:

causing, using one or more computing devices, a compositional analysis application to execute one or more processor-executable functions of the application, execution of the one or more processor-executable functions to:
generate one or more finite state models based, at least in part, on one or more programming policies;
analyze a first element in source code based, at least in part, on application of the one or more finite state models to the first element;
store a summary of the analysis of the first element, the summary comprising data indicative of a complete or partially complete analysis of the first element, including information describing one or more states of the one or more finite state models;
analyze a second element in the source code, wherein the second element has a dependency on the first element, and wherein the analysis of the second element is performed after analyzing the first element and is based, at least in part, on application of the one or more finite state models to the second element and the stored summary of the analysis of the first element;
analyze a modified version of the second element in the source code based, at least in part, on application of the one or more finite state models to the modified version of the second element and the stored summary of the analysis of the first element;
and
indicate conformance of the source code based, at least in part, on analyzing the first element and the modified second element.

indicate conformance of the source code based, at least in part, on analyzing the first element and the modified second element.
