Abstract
A user provided the opportunity to unlock an extended reality (XR) wearable device. Example methods include receiving a wakeup signal, capturing an image using an image capturing device of the XR wearable device, identifying a body part of a user within the image, verifying the body part is a body part of an authorized user, and in response to a determination that the body part is the body part of the user, unlocking the XR wearable device. The method may include capturing a plurality of images using the image capturing device, and identifying a gesture performed by the user.
Claims20
An extended reality (XR) wearable device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, configure the XR wearable device to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a wakeup signal, the wakeup signal generated by a physical movement of a sensor of the XR wearable device, the sensor in a non-powered state prior to the physical movement;
- waking up the XR wearable device in response to the wakeup signal;
- waiting a predetermined period of time;
- capturing an image using an image capturing device of the XR wearable device;
- determining, based on processing the image, that the XR wearable device is being worn by a user;
- identifying a body part of the user within the image;
- verifying the body part is a body part of an authorized user;
- displaying on a display of the XR wearable device an XR menu option to unlock the XR wearable device;
- and
- in response to a determination that the body part is the body part of the authorized user and that the user selected the XR menu option to unlock the XR wearable device using the verified body part, unlocking the XR wearable device.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when processed by one or more processors of an extended reality (XR) wearable device, configure the XR wearable device to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a wakeup signal, the wakeup signal generated by a physical movement of a sensor of the XR wearable device, the sensor in a non-powered state prior to the movement;
- waking up the XR wearable device in response to the wakeup signal;
- waiting a predetermined period of time;
- capturing an image using an image capturing device of the XR wearable device;
- determining, based on processing the image, that the XR wearable device is being worn by a user;
- identifying a body part of the user within the image;
- verifying the body part is a body part of an authorized user;
- displaying on a display of the XR wearable device an XR menu option to unlock the XR wearable device;
- and
- in response to a determination that the body part is the body part of the authorized user and that the user selected the XR menu option to unlock the XR wearable device using the verified body part, unlocking the XR wearable device.
A method performed by an extended reality (XR) wearable device, the method comprising:
- receiving a wakeup signal, the wakeup signal generated by a physical movement of a sensor of the XR wearable device, the sensor in a non-powered state prior to the movement;
- waking up the XR wearable device in response to the wakeup signal;
- waiting a predetermined period of time;
- capturing an image using an image capturing device of the XR wearable device;
- determining, based on processing the image, that the XR wearable device is being worn by a user;
- identifying a body part of the user within the image;
- verifying the body part is a body part of an authorized user:
- displaying on a display of the XR wearable device an XR menu option to unlock the XR wearable device;
- and
- in response to a determination that the body part is the body part of the authorized user and that the user selected the XR menu option to unlock the XR wearable device using the verified body part, unlocking the XR wearable device.
