Device and method for providing functionalities

A device for providing functionalities, comprising:

• at least one storage unit in which a first parameter set and a second parameter set are provided, wherein the first parameter set includes one or more first parameter values representing functionalities that the device can provide to or for other devices, wherein the one or more first parameter values indicate a functionality of the functionalities, wherein the second parameter set includes one or more second parameter values representing functionalities that the device can't provide to or for other devices, and wherein the one or more second parameter values indicate a functionality of the functionalities that the device can't provide;
• a communication interface configured to obtain a third parameter set from a second device, wherein the third parameter set includes third parameter values representing functionalities that the second device can provide to the device, and wherein the third parameter values indicate a functionality of the functionalities of the second device;
• and
• a processing unit configured to:
• compare the third parameter set with the second parameter set;
• select, based on the comparison, one or more of the functionalities provided by the second device;
• and
• establish a payload connection between the device and the second device if at least one of the one or more functionalities provided by the second device has been selected for use, wherein the payload connection transmits control signals from the device to the second device for executing the selected one or more functionalities provided by the second device, and data from the second device to the device that is obtained by the execution of the selected one or more functionalities.
