Abstract
A belt transport device includes an endless belt, multiple stretchers that stretch the belt, a corrector that displaces one of the multiple stretchers to correct a shift of the belt toward an edge portion of the belt in an axial direction of the belt, and a lubricant applicator that applies a lubricant to an inner surface of the belt at the edge portion of the belt in the axial direction when the belt has shifted toward the edge portion in the axial direction.

A belt transport device, comprising:
- an endless belt;
- a plurality of rollers provided inside the endless belt and configured to stretch the endless belt;
- a steering roller configured to be inclined to correct a shift of the endless belt toward an edge portion of the endless belt in an axial direction of the endless belt;
- and
- a wick member provided with lubricant and fixed to a support, the wick member configured to contact an inner surface of the endless belt at an edge portion in the axial direction only when the endless belt shifts toward the edge portion in the axial direction.

A belt transport device, comprising:
- an endless belt;
- a plurality of stretching means for stretching the endless belt;
- correcting means for displacing one of the plurality of stretching means to correct a shift of the endless belt toward an edge portion of the endless belt in an axial direction of the endless belt;
- and
- lubricant applying means for contacting and applying a lubricant to an inner surface of the endless belt at the edge portion of the endless belt in the axial direction only when the endless belt shifts toward the edge portion in the axial direction.
