Abstract
A wearable electronic device including a pressure sensor and an adjustable band is disclosed. In an example, a head-mountable device (HMD) includes a display; a housing coupled to the display; a force transducer coupled to the housing; and an adjustable band coupled to the housing, the adjustable band being adjustable in response to a pressure detected by the force transducer.
Claims20
A head-mountable device (HMD), comprising:
- a display;
- a housing coupled to the display;
- a force transducer coupled to the housing;
- and
- an adjustable band coupled to the housing, wherein:
- the adjustable band is adjustable in response to a pressure detected by the force transducer and a first prescribed tension range selected by a user for a first selected activity;
- the first prescribed tension range for the first activity is defined in a user profile;
- and
- a second prescribed tension for a second activity is defined in the user profile.

An electronic device comprising:
- a display;
- a pressure sensor coupled to the display;
- and
- an adjustable band coupled to the display, the adjustable band comprising a tension adjustment system configured to adjust tension in the adjustable band in response to a signal from the pressure sensor and a duration signal indicating a duration of use of the electronic device for a current use session.

A method comprising:
- determining a position of a wearable electronic device relative to a landmark on a user;
- determining an alignment position of the wearable device relative to the user;
- determining a misalignment of the wearable electronic device relative to the landmark on the user based on the position of the wearable electronic device and the alignment position;
- detecting, with a sensor, a force between the wearable electronic device and the user;
- providing a position adjustment instruction in response to the determined position of the wearable electronic device relative to the landmark on the user and the force detected by the sensor;
- and
- automatically adjusting a position of the wearable electronic device in response to the position adjustment instruction.
