Abstract
A method for screening and matching cells for qualification and binning can include conducting a first and second impedance-based measurement of a cell separated by a rest interval of the cell and analyzing change/shift in the impedance spectrum obtained before and after the rest interval to afford algorithms to match, categorize, or group cells within a plurality of cells (C1 . . . Cn) that have the same, substantially the same, or fall within a range of structural or functional parameters based on the impedance change/shift in the impedance spectrum.
Claims19
An apparatus, comprising:
- a processor communicatively coupled to a non-transitory computer readable media containing a program code executed under control of said processor, whereby said apparatus operates to:
- excite each of a plurality of cells to conduct an impedance measurement prior to assembling said plurality of cells into one or more cell modules, said impedance measurement using an excitation signal including a root mean squared current or a root mean squared voltage having a plurality of frequencies in a frequency range;
- concurrently measure said plurality of frequencies within one period of a lowest frequency of said plurality of frequencies;
- record a response time record of each of said plurality of cells excited using said excitation signal;
- process said plurality of frequencies associated with a response time record of each said plurality of cells;
- generate an impedance spectrum associated with said response time record of each of said plurality of cells;
- compare impedance spectrum characteristics in each said impedance spectrum between said plurality of cells;
- and
- group said plurality cells into a plurality of cell groups, said plurality of cells within each of said plurality of cell groups having said spectrum characteristics included within a threshold range of said spectrum characteristics.
An apparatus, wherein said apparatus comprises a processor communicatively coupled to a non-transitory computer readable media containing a program code executed under control of said processor, whereby said apparatus operates to:
- excite each of a plurality of cells with a first stimulus signal to conduct a first impedance measurement of each of said plurality of cells, said first stimulus signal including a plurality of frequencies within a frequency range;
- concurrently measure said plurality of frequencies of said first stimulus signal within one period of a lowest frequency of said plurality of frequencies and generate a first impedance spectrum of said first impedance measurement on each of said plurality of cells;
- excite each of a plurality of cells with a second stimulus signal, to conduct a second impedance measurement of each of said plurality of cells, said second stimulus signal including a plurality of frequencies within a frequency range;
- concurrently measure said plurality of frequencies of said second stimulus signal within one period of a lowest frequency of said plurality of frequencies and generate a second impedance spectrum of said second impedance measurement on each of said plurality of cells;
- analyze an impedance spectrum shift between said first impedance spectrum and said second impedance spectrum for each of said plurality of cells;
- and
- group said cells within said plurality of cells into a plurality of cell groups based on said impedance spectrum shift.
