Abstract
The disclosure relates to a hearing system comprising a first hearing device including a first sensor configured to provide first sensor data; a second hearing device including a second sensor configured to provide second sensor data indicative of a displacement of the second hearing device and/or a property detected on the user at the location of the second hearing device; and a processing unit communicatively coupled to the first and second sensor. The disclosure further relates to a method of operating the hearing system and a computer-implemented method.
Claims18
A hearing system comprising:
- a first hearing device configured to be worn at a first ear of a user, the first hearing device comprising a first sensor configured to provide first sensor data indicative of a displacement of the first hearing device and/or a property detected on the user at a location of the first hearing device;
- a second hearing device configured to be worn at a second ear of the user, the second hearing device comprising a second sensor configured to be activated to provide second sensor data indicative of a displacement of the second hearing device and/or a property detected on the user at a location of the second hearing device;
- and
- a processing unit communicatively coupled to the first and second sensor,
- characterized in that the first sensor is configured to provide an information content in the first sensor data differing from an information content in the second sensor data, and the processing unit is configured to
- cause the first sensor to provide the first sensor data while the second sensor is deactivated;
- derive a condition of the user from the first sensor data;
- activate, based on the condition derived from the first sensor data, the second sensor to begin providing the second sensor data only after the condition is derived;
- combine the information content in the first sensor data with the information content in the second sensor data;
- and
- determine, from the combined information, information about a displacement of the user and/or the property detected on the user.
A method of operating a hearing system, the hearing system comprising:
- a first hearing device configured to be worn at a first ear of a user, the first hearing device comprising a first sensor configured to provide first sensor data indicative of a displacement of the first hearing device and/or a property detected on the user at a location of the first hearing device;
- and
- a second hearing device configured to be worn at a second ear of the user, the second hearing device comprising a second sensor configured to be activated to provide second sensor data indicative of a displacement of the second hearing device and/or a property detected on the user at a location of the second hearing device,
- characterized in that the first sensor is configured to provide an information content in the first sensor data differing from an information content in the second sensor data, and the method comprises:
- causing the first sensor to provide the first sensor data while the second sensor is deactivated;
- deriving a condition of the user from the first sensor data;
- activating, based on the condition derived from the first sensor data, the second sensor to begin providing the second sensor data only after the condition is derived;
- combining the information content in the first sensor data with the information content in the second sensor data;
- and
- determining, from the combined information, information about a displacement of the user and/or the property detected on the user.
