Oven

An oven having a body that includes a rear wall, a base, a ceiling, and side walls extending between the base and the ceiling, the side walls at least partly surrounding a cooking cavity, the oven including:

• an impeller assembly mounted to the rear wall of the oven body, the impeller assembly including:
• an impeller that is rotatable to direct air flow within the cooking cavity;
• a plurality of air guides that at least partially surround the impeller, the air guides each defining a channel that extends generally transversely from a central axis of the impeller;
• a pair of vertical heating elements located on either side of the impeller, whereby air that is directed from the impeller travels transversely along the channels of the air guides, across the vertical heating elements, and into the cooking cavity;
• and
• upper heating elements extending across the ceiling of the oven body and lower heating elements extending across the base of the oven body,
• wherein the channel of each air guide extends transversely towards either a right side wall or a left side wall of the oven body, whereby opposing channels create linearly opposing flow paths, and whereby air that travels along the opposing channels subsequently travels towards a front portion of the cavity, across the upper and lower heating elements, then towards the rear wall of the oven body and then again across the upper and lower heating elements and
• wherein the vertical heating elements include a series of air guide portions that are aligned with and correspond to the channels of the air guides that at least partially surround the impeller.
