Abstract
Provided herein are products, methods, and kits, for use in regulating the temperature of an object. The present invention relates to thermal insulating liners for regulating the temperature of perishable goods or temperature sensitive products. The thermal insulating liners generally may be dimensioned to fit within a container. The thermal insulating liners may be quickly collapsed and reconstructed to improve stackability and diminish the amount of space required to store the thermal insulating liners prior to use.
Claims29
An insulation liner comprising:
- a flexible insulating layer comprising a first fibrous material and a second fibrous material both forming a nonwoven web, wherein the first fibrous material comprises about 14% by weight to about 18% by weight of polyethylene within the insulating layer and the second fibrous material comprises cellulose;
- a first flexible barrier comprising paper adjacent to and adhered to a first external surface of the insulating layer with polyvinyl acetate;
- and
- a second flexible barrier comprising paper adjacent to and adhered to a second external surface of the insulating layer with polyvinyl acetate,
- wherein the flexible insulating layer is disposed between the first barrier and the second barrier,
- wherein the flexible insulating layer has a density of about 200 to about 3500 grams per square meter (GSM),
- wherein the insulation liner is recyclable, and
- wherein at least a portion of the first fibrous material is thermally bonded to at least a portion of the second fibrous material within the flexible insulating layer.
An insulation liner comprising:
- an insulating layer comprising a first fibrous material and a second fibrous material both forming a nonwoven web, wherein the first fibrous material comprises about 14% by weight to about 18% by weight of polyethylene within the insulating layer and the second fibrous material comprising cellulose;
- a first barrier covering a first external surface of the insulating layer;
- and
- a second barrier covering a second external surface of the insulating layer and adhered to the first barrier,
- wherein the insulating layer is disposed between the first barrier and the second barrier,
- wherein the insulating layer has a density of about 200 to about 3500 grams per square meter (GSM),
- wherein the insulation liner is capable of being bent or flexed repeatedly,
- wherein the insulation liner is recyclable, and
- wherein at least a portion of the first fibrous material is thermal bonded to at least a portion of the second fibrous material within the insulating layer.
An insulation liner comprising:
- a flexible insulating layer comprising thermoplastic fibers and cellulosic fibers, the thermoplastic fibers in an amount of about 10% by weight to about 20% by weight of the insulating layer,
- wherein the flexible insulating layer has a density of about 200 to about 1900 grams per square meter (GSM) and a thickness of about 1.2 centimeters (cm) to about 30 cm, and
- wherein the insulation liner is recyclable, and
- wherein at least one thermoplastic fiber is thermal bonded to at least one cellulosic fiber within the flexible insulating layer.
An insulation liner comprising:
- a flexible insulating layer comprising a continuous layer of non-woven fibrous material, the continuous layer of non-woven fibrous material comprising a first fibrous material and a second fibrous material,
- the first fibrous material comprising thermoplastic fibers in an amount of about 10% by weight to about 20% by weight of the insulating layer, and
- the second fibrous material is different from the first fibrous material,
- a first flexible paper barrier having a first inner surface disposed adjacent to a first external surface of the flexible insulating layer, the first inner surface comprising a first moisture resistant coating;
- and
- a second flexible paper barrier having a second inner surface disposed adjacent to a second external surface of the flexible insulating layer, the second inner surface comprising a second moisture resistant coating,
- wherein at least a portion of the second fibrous material is bonded to at least a portion of the first fibrous material,
- wherein a first portion of the first inner surface is adhered to a first portion of the first external surface of the flexible insulating layer, and a first portion of the second inner surface is adhered to a first portion of the second external surface of the flexible insulating layer, and
- wherein the flexible insulating layer has a density of about 200 to about 3500 grams per square meter (GSM), and
- wherein at least a portion of the first fibrous material and at least a portion of the second fibrous material are thermal bonded to each other within the flexible insulating layer.
