Abstract
A fluid pump including a one-piece block having a plurality of interconnected fluid paths, a plurality of valves located within the plurality of interconnected fluid paths, and a plunger located within at least one of the plurality of interconnected fluid paths to push a first portion of the volume of fluid through a first section of the plurality of interconnected fluid paths and from a second fluid port during a push stroke to push a second portion of the volume of fluid through a second section of the plurality of interconnected fluid paths and from the second fluid port during a backstroke. Each of the plurality of valves is movable between an open position and a closed position to form the first section and the second section.

- a one-piece block having a first end, a second end, a first side, a second side, a top side, and a bottom side;
- the one-piece block having a first vertical fluid path and a second vertical fluid path extending between the top side and the bottom side and being spaced between the first end and second end, a first horizontal fluid path, a second horizontal fluid path, and a pump piston fluid path extending between the first end and the second end and being spaced between the top side and the bottom side;
- the first horizontal fluid path, the second horizontal fluid path, and the pump piston fluid path being in fluid communication with the first vertical fluid path and the second vertical fluid path;
- and
- a pump unit having a hydraulic cylinder, a piston, and a plunger, the plunger having a front side and a back side with the back side attached to the piston driven by the hydraulic cylinder in a reciprocating linear action such that the plunger moves within the pump piston fluid path, wherein the plunger moves the fluid within the pump piston fluid path on the front side of the plunger on a push stroke of the hydraulic cylinder, and moves the fluid within the pump piston fluid path on the back side of the plunger on a back stroke of the hydraulic cylinder;
- a hydraulic cylinder valve control system having a valve controller, and for each one-piece block, a first valve, a second valve, a third valve, and a fourth valve;
- wherein the first valve is operable to allow fluid to flow from a fluid inlet port to the second vertical fluid path in an open position, and restrict fluid to flow between the fluid inlet port and the second vertical fluid path in a closed position;
- the second valve is operable to allow fluid to flow from the second vertical fluid path to a fluid outlet port in an open position, and restrict the flow of fluid between the second vertical fluid path and the fluid outlet port in a closed position;
- the third valve is operable to allow fluid to flow from the fluid inlet port to the first vertical fluid path in an open position, and restrict the flow of fluid between the fluid inlet port and the first vertical fluid path in a closed position;
- the fourth valve is operable to allow fluid to flow from the first vertical fluid path to the fluid outlet port in an open position, and restrict the flow of fluid between the fluid outlet port and the first vertical fluid path in a closed position;
- wherein the valve controller is operable to cause the second valve and third valve to be in the open position and the first valve and fourth valve to be in the closed position during the push stroke, and to cause the first valve and the fourth valve to be in the open position and the second valve and the third valve to be in the closed position during the back stroke;
- a valve sleeve assembly including a first horizontal valve seat sleeve, a second horizontal valve seat sleeve, a pump section valve sleeve, and one or more vertical valve sleeves, wherein the first horizontal valve seat sleeve is within the first horizontal fluid path, the second horizontal valve seat sleeve is positioned within the second horizontal fluid path, and the pump section valve sleeve is positioned within the pump piston fluid path,
- wherein the one or more vertical valve sleeves are positioned between each of the first horizontal valve seat sleeve, the second horizontal valve seat sleeve, and the pump section valve sleeve such that the valve sleeve assembly reduces fluid contact with the one-piece block as the fluid is directed through the valve sleeve assembly,
- wherein the fluid inlet port is in fluid communication with the first horizontal fluid path of the one-piece block of the first vein and the first horizontal fluid path of the one-piece block of the second vein, and
- wherein the fluid outlet port is in fluid communication with the second horizontal fluid path of the one-piece block of the first vein and the second horizontal fluid path of the one-piece block of the second vein.
A fluid pump assembly, comprising:
- a first vein and a second vein fluidly connected to one another, wherein each of the first vein and the second vein comprises:
- a one-piece block having a first end, a second end, a first side, a second side, a top side, and a bottom side, the one-piece block having an inlet fluid path, an outlet fluid path, a first connecting fluid path, a second connecting fluid path, and a pump piston fluid path, the first connecting fluid path intersecting the inlet fluid path, the outlet fluid path, and the pump piston fluid path, and the second connecting fluid path intersecting the inlet fluid path, the outlet fluid path, and the pump piston fluid path;
- a first control valve connected to the one-piece block and having a valve head movable between an open position permitting fluid flow between the inlet fluid path and the first connecting fluid path and a closed position sealing fluid flow therebetween;
- a second control valve connected to the one-piece block and having a valve head movable between an open position permitting fluid flow between the outlet fluid path and the first connecting fluid path and a closed position sealing fluid flow therebetween;
- a third control valve connected to the one-piece block and having a valve head movable between an open position permitting fluid flow between the inlet fluid path and the second connecting fluid path and a closed position sealing fluid flow therebetween;
- a fourth control valve connected to the one-piece block and having a valve head movable between an open position permitting fluid flow between the outlet fluid path and the second connecting fluid path and a closed position sealing fluid flow therebetween;
- and
- a linear pump connected to the one-piece block and having a pump plunger positioned in the pump piston fluid path to reciprocate between the first connecting fluid path and the second connecting fluid path in a push stroke and a backstroke;
- an inlet fluid port in fluid communication with the inlet fluid path of the one-piece block of the first vein and the inlet fluid path of the one-piece block of the second vein;
