Construction assist system for shovel

A construction assist system for a shovel to assist construction with the shovel, comprising:

• a space recognition device configured to recognize a space around the shovel, the space recognition device being mounted on the shovel or installed in a worksite outside the shovel;
• a memory storing a program;
• and
• a hardware processor coupled to the memory and configured to execute the program to perform a simulation of a motion of the shovel in a virtual worksite set based on a work environment of the shovel, the virtual worksite being a three-dimensional virtual space where a current terrain of an actual worksite is reproduced,
• wherein the hardware processor is further configured to build the virtual worksite based on an output of the space recognition device,
• the hardware processor is further configured to dispose a virtual shovel in the virtual worksite such that the current terrain and a position and an orientation of the virtual shovel in the virtual worksite coincide with the current terrain and a position and an orientation of the shovel in the actual worksite, based on an output of a positioning device configured to measure the position of the shovel in the actual worksite,
• the hardware processor is further configured to move the virtual shovel according to an operation signal, and
• the hardware processor is further configured to determine whether an undesirable event is likely to occur as the shovel in the actual worksite moves, and to stop a movement of the shovel in the actual worksite and notify an operator of the shovel to perform the simulation in response to determining that the undesirable event is likely to occur as the shovel in the actual worksite moves.
