Abstract
Disclosed is a no-rinse aerospace cleaning composition useful in cleaning painted and unpainted metal, as well as polymeric surfaces found in aircraft, the composition comprising an oil-in-water emulsion containing water, organic solvent, an aqueous emulsion of wax-free glossing agent, solid particles, polyalkylsiloxane oil, surfactant, emulsifier, thickener, corrosion inhibitor, and pH adjuster; methods of making and using the composition are also provided.
Claims16
A dry-wash cleaning composition that comprises an oil-in-water emulsion containing components, based on the weight of the composition:
- A) water present in an amount of at least 50 wt. %;
- B) isoparaffinic organic solvent;
- C) ultra-fine solid particles having a median diameter (DM) of less than 900 nanometers;
- D) an aqueous emulsion of wax-free glossing agent;
- E) at least one surfactant, different from that found in component D), optionally comprising at least one anionic surfactant, and wherein the composition does not include a non-ionic surfactant;
- F) polydialkylsiloxane oil;
- and
- G) water-soluble or water-miscible corrosion and stain inhibitor.
