Abstract
A system is disclosed for additively manufacturing a structure. The system may have a pedestal, a motion platform mounted to the pedestal, and a print head coupled to the motion platform. The system may also include an enclosure at least partially surrounding the motion platform and the print head, and a print surface configured to selectively dock with the pedestal.
Claims13
An additive manufacturing system, comprising:
- a pedestal;
- a robotic arm mounted to the pedestal;
- a print head coupled to the robotic arm;
- an enclosure at least partially surrounding the robotic arm and the print head and providing an internal working space for an operator of the additive manufacturing system, wherein the enclosure includes:
- a ceiling;
- first side wall;
- a second side wall opposite the first side wall;
- a rear wall connected between the first and second side walls;
- and
- at least one door opposite the rear wall;
- a print platform;
- and
- an HMI located inside of the enclosure, the HMI being located adjacent to the at least one door and accessible from outside of the enclosure,
- wherein the HMI is configured to pivot between a deployed position accessible from outside of the enclosure and a stowed position located against one of the first side wall or the second side wall that is not accessible from outside of the enclosure.

An additive manufacturing system, comprising:
- a pedestal;
- a robotic arm mounted to the pedestal;
- a print head coupled to the robotic arm;
- an enclosure at least partially surrounding the robotic arm and the print head and providing internal working space for an operator of the additive manufacturing system;
- a print surface, and
- a build volume located inside of the enclosure, the build volume defined by a plurality of boundary limits including at least a front limit and a back limit, wherein the front limit is curved,
- wherein the plurality of boundary limits further includes a first planar side limit and a second planar side limit corresponding to lateral ends of the print surface.
