Abstract
A pneumatic-controlled abrasive blasting system that includes a blast hose; and a deadman assembly coupled with the blast hose. The deadman assembly has a primary deadman valve; and a secondary deadman valve. There is an air source configured for fluid communication with each of the primary and secondary deadman valves and the blast hose. There is a regulator valve disposed between the deadman assembly and the air source. The regulator is configured to reduce the pressure of airflow to the deadman assembly.

A pneumatic-controlled abrasive blasting system comprising:
- a blast hose;
- a deadman device coupled with the blast hose, the deadman device further comprising:
- a base frame;
- a trigger member movably coupled with the base frame;
- a primary deadman valve housed at least partially within the base frame;
- an air source configured for fluid communication with the primary deadman valve and the blast hose;
- a pressure regulator valve disposed between the deadman device and the air source;
- a primary control valve in signal communication with the primary deadman valve and also in fluid communication with the air source;
- wherein the primary control valve comprises an activation pressure setting and deactivation pressure setting, and
- wherein the air source sends a source signal airflow to the pressure regulator valve,
- wherein the pressure regulator valve operates to reduce pressure of the source signal airflow to form a regulated signal airflow transferred to the primary deadman valve,
- whereby a pressure differential between the regulated signal airflow pressure and the primary control valve deactivation pressure setting is greater than 10 psi.
A pneumatic-controlled abrasive blasting system comprising:
- a blast hose;
- a deadman device coupled with the blast hose, the deadman device further comprising:
- a base frame;
- a trigger member movably coupled with the base frame;
- a primary deadman valve housed at least partially within the base frame;
- an air source configured for fluid communication with the primary deadman valve and the blast hose;
- a pressure regulator valve disposed between the deadman device and the air source;
- a primary control valve in signal communication with the primary deadman valve and also in fluid communication with the air source;
- wherein the air source sends a source signal airflow to the pressure regulator valve,
- wherein the primary control valve comprises an activation pressure setting and a deactivation pressure setting, and
- wherein the pressure regulator valve operates to reduce pressure of the signal airflow to form a regulated signal airflow transferred to the primary deadman valve, whereby a pressure differential between a regulated signal airflow pressure and the deactivation pressure setting is at least 10 psi and no more than 95 psi.
A pneumatic-controlled abrasive blasting system comprising:
- a blast hose;
- a hand-holdable deadman signal-cutoff device coupled with the blast hose, the hand-holdable deadman signal-cutoff device further comprising:
- a primary deadman valve;
- a base frame, with the primary deadman valve housed at least partially within the base frame;
- and
- a trigger member pivotably coupled with the base frame, the trigger member further comprising:
- a first movable member configured to contact and move the primary deadman valve to a signal-flow position;
- and
- an air source configured for fluid communication with the primary deadman valve and the blast hose;
- a pressure regulator valve disposed between the hand-holdable deadman signal-cutoff device and the air source;
- a primary control valve in signal communication with the primary deadman valve and also in fluid communication with the air source;
- wherein the air source sends a source signal airflow to the pressure regulator valve,
- wherein the primary control valve comprises an activation pressure setting and a deactivation pressure setting,
- wherein the pressure regulator valve reduces pressure of the source signal airflow to form a regulated signal airflow transferred from the pressure regulator valve to the primary deadman valve, and
- wherein in the signal-flow position the regulated signal airflow transfers from the primary deadman valve to the primary control valve.
