Connectors for conduits

A connection device to be provided at a terminal end of a breathing conduit, the connection device comprising a body, the body comprising a first end and a second end, the body defining a lumen that extends between the first end of the body and the second end of the body, the first end of the body being configured to engage with the terminal end of the breathing conduit or a component to be associated with the terminal end of the breathing conduit, the second end of the body being configured to engage with another connection device, an internal portion of the body comprising two or more locking fingers being configured to connect with a female part of the another connection device, the two or more locking fingers each comprising an outer surface and an inner surface opposite the outer surface, the inner surface defining at least a portion of the lumen, the outer surface of each of the two or more locking fingers comprising a recess engageable with a complementary portion of the another connection device, wherein the recess of the two or more locking fingers and the complementary portion of the another connection device forms a catch or a latch;

• the connection device further comprising an outer wall, the outer wall comprising an exterior surface and an interior surface, the interior surface of the outer wall being radially spaced apart from the two or more locking fingers, the exterior surface of the outer wall comprising at least one of:
• at least a first external alignment surface configured to align the connection device into an externally aligned connection with the another connection device, and
• at least a first external visual aid configured to provide an externally visible guide for alignment of the connection device into an aligned connection with the another connection device,
• wherein the first external alignment surface comprises at least one cut-out in a terminal end face of the outer wall of the second end, the at least one cut-out being configured to be received by a substantially reciprocally shaped portion on the another connection device to which the outer wall is to be placed into contact.
