Abstract
This document provides fibrin hydrogels and methods and materials for making and using fibrin hydrogels. For example, this document provides fibrin hydrogels containing trypan blue (TB), Evans blue (EB), and/or one or more isomers thereof. Methods for making and using fibrin hydrogels containing TB, EB, and/or one or more isomers thereof also are provided.
Claims12
A fibrin hydrogel comprising (a) about 30 mg/mL to about 60 mg/mL of a fibrinogen polypeptide, (b) about 0.1 U/mL to about 50 U/mL of a thrombin polypeptide, and (c) from about 0.01% (w/v) to about 0.15% (w/v) Trypan Blue, Evans Blue, or an isomer thereof;
- wherein said fibrin hydrogel comprises a shear modulus of from about 1900 Pa to about 2420 Pa, and wherein said Trypan Blue, said Evans Blue, or said isomer thereof was added to a gelation mixture comprising said fibrinogen polypeptide and said thrombin polypeptide to form said fibrin hydrogel.
A fibrin hydrogel comprising (a) about 30 mg/mL to about 60 mg/mL of a fibrinogen polypeptide, (b) about 0.1 U/mL to about 50 U/mL of a thrombin polypeptide, and (c) from about 0.01% (w/v) to about 0.15% (w/v) Trypan Blue, Evans Blue, or an isomer thereof;
- wherein the gelation time of said fibrin hydrogel is from about 100 seconds to about 250 seconds, and wherein said Trypan Blue, said Evans Blue, or said isomer thereof was added to a gelation mixture comprising said fibrinogen polypeptide and said thrombin polypeptide to form said fibrin hydrogel.
