Abstract
This invention disclosed herein relates generally to compositions comprising the cysteine protease ananain, a reducing agent and a buffer. Also disclosed generally herein are methods of stabilizing the cysteine protease, ananain while retaining protease activity, as well as methods of activating ananain zymogen for proteolysis.
Claims18
A composition comprising:
- (a) recombinant pro-ananain
- (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable buffer
- (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable reducing agent, and
- (d) sodium chloride (NaCl),
- wherein the concentration of the buffer is about 5 to about 30 mM, wherein the concentration of the reducing agent is about 10 to about 30 mM, wherein the concentration of the NaCl is about 140 to about 160 mM and wherein the pH of the composition is about 5.0 to about 6.0.
