Abstract
A tissue retention belt for maintaining tissue in a position that permits access to a body portion of a patient for a medical procedure includes a first anchor zone, a second anchor zone, and a tension zone. The tension zone extends between the first anchor zone and the second anchor zone and defines a tension axis that extends in a direction of loading to be applied to retained tissue. The tension zone may include an auxiliary anchor zone that includes a removable non-adhesive and an adhesive surface configured to adhere to a patient's skin and provide auxiliary anchoring for maintaining tissue in position.
Claims24
A tissue retention apparatus for maintaining tissue in a position on a body portion of a patient, comprising:
- an elongate flexible body having a primary anchor zone at a distal region, a secondary anchor zone at a proximal region, and a tension zone between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone, said primary anchor zone having a first width and comprising at a lower surface thereof a first attachment surface having a first attachment feature, said secondary anchor zone having a second width and comprising at a lower surface thereof a second attachment surface having a second attachment feature, and said tension zone comprising a third width and a lower surface thereof that includes an adhesion free zone extending between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone configured so as to not adhere to skin of said patient, said tension zone comprising a material having substantially homogenous properties along its length between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone, at least one of said first width or said second width being relatively wider than said third width, said tension zone being configured to extend in a direction of loading to be applied to tissue of said patient and to be pulled by a user to lift or displace tissue in a desired direction.
A tissue retention apparatus for maintaining tissue in a position on a body portion of a patient, comprising:
- an elongate flexible body having a tension axis and comprising along said tension axis a primary anchor zone at a distal region, a secondary anchor zone at a proximal region, and a tension zone between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone, said primary anchor zone having a first width and comprising at a lower surface thereof a first attachment surface having a first attachment feature, said secondary anchor zone having a second width and comprising at a lower surface thereof a second attachment surface having a second attachment feature, and said tension zone comprising a length between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone and a third width and a lower surface thereof that includes an adhesion free zone extending between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone configured so as to not adhere to skin of said patient, said tension zone being configured to elongate along said tension axis no more than 2% of the length between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone under a tensile load, at least one of said first width or said second width being relatively wider than said third width, said tension zone being configured to extend along said tension axis in a direction of loading to be applied to tissue of said patient and to be pulled by a user to lift or displace tissue in a desired direction.
A tissue retention apparatus for maintaining tissue in a position on a body portion of a patient, comprising:
- an elongate flexible body having a primary anchor zone at a distal region, a secondary anchor zone at a proximal region, and a tension zone between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone, said primary anchor zone having a first width and comprising at a lower surface thereof a first attachment surface having a first adhesive, said secondary anchor zone having a second width and comprising at a lower surface thereof a second attachment surface comprising a layer of loop material that forms a loop portion of a hook and loop fastener, said tension zone comprising a mesh material and at a lower surface thereof an adhesion free zone extending between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone configured so as to not adhere to skin of said patient, said first width being relatively wider than said second width, said tension zone being configured to extend in a direction of loading to be applied to tissue of said patient and to be pulled by a user to lift or displace tissue in a desired direction.
A tissue retention apparatus for maintaining tissue in a position on a body portion of a patient, comprising:
- an elongate flexible body having a primary anchor zone at a distal region, a secondary anchor zone at a proximal region, and a tension zone between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone, said primary anchor zone having a first width and comprising at a lower surface thereof a first attachment surface having a first adhesive, said secondary anchor zone having a second width and comprising at a lower surface thereof a second attachment surface comprising a second adhesive, said tension zone comprising a mesh material and at a lower surface thereof an adhesion free zone extending between said primary anchor zone and said secondary anchor zone configured so as to not adhere to skin of said patient, said first width being relatively wider than said second width, said tension zone being configured to extend in a direction of loading to be applied to tissue of said patient and to be pulled by a user to lift or displace tissue in a desired direction.
