Siderail for a bed for a patient

A bed for a patient, the bed extending longitudinally along a longitudinal axis between a head or rear end and a foot or front end and extending transversely along a transversal axis between a left side and right side, the bed comprising:

• a patient support assembly comprising a patient surface for supporting the patient;
• a first frame, the patient support assembly being mounted to the first frame;
• and
• a siderail assembly comprising:
• a siderail comprising:
• an inner wall facing the patient surface,
• an outer wall opposite the inner wall,
• a bottom edge,
• a top edge,
• a bottom wall extending along the inner wall and inwardly towards the patient surface, the bottom wall comprising:
• a top surface, an inner surface facing the patient surface, a first end, and a second end, and
• an inner projection extending upwardly from a portion of the bottom wall, the inner projection comprising a top edge, an outer surface facing the patient surface, and an inner surface facing a portion of the inner wall, wherein the inner projection is spaced from the first end and the second end,
• a mounting member mounted to the patient support assembly or the first frame, and
• a connecting arm between the siderail and the mounting member;
• wherein a hollow space to receive an electronic device is defined between the top surface of the bottom wall, the inner surface of the inner projection and the portion of the inner wall, the bottom wall extending along the inner wall towards the top edge at an angle between 20° and 40° relative to the longitudinal axis.

A siderail for a bed for a patient, the bed extending longitudinally along a longitudinal axis between a head or rear end and a foot or front end and extending transversely along a transversal axis between a left side and right side, the bed comprising:

• a patient support assembly comprising a patient surface for supporting the patient,
• a frame, the patient support assembly being mounted to the frame,
• a siderail comprising:
• an inner wall facing the patient surface,
• an outer wall opposite the inner wall,
• a bottom edge,
• a first top edge,
• a first inner projection extending upwardly and being spaced from the inner wall, the first inner projection comprising a second top edge, a first outer surface facing the patient surface, and a first inner surface facing a portion of the inner wall,
• a bottom wall extending along the inner wall and inwardly towards the patient surface, the bottom wall comprising a top surface and a second inner surface facing the patient surface,
• a front wall extending along the inner wall, inwardly towards the patient surface, and upwardly from the bottom wall, the front wall comprising a front surface and a third inner surface facing the patient surface, and
• a second inner projection extending from the front wall and being spaced from the inner wall and the bottom wall, the second inner projection comprising a third top edge, a second outer surface facing the patient surface, and a second inner surface facing a portion of the inner wall, wherein the second inner projection extends in a direction transverse to the first inner projection;
• wherein the first inner projection extends from a portion of the bottom wall, the bottom wall extending along the inner wall towards the top edge at an angle between 20° and 40° relative to the longitudinal axis, wherein a hollow space to receive an electronic device is defined between the top surface of the bottom wall, the first inner surface, and the portion of the inner wall.
