Abstract
An oral hygiene system including a head with a base portion with arms extending to support an embrasure cleaning feature and flossing filament. The system may include removeable heads with different configurations directed to different oral environments and uses.
Claims4
A dental hygiene headpiece comprising:
- a base having a top surface;
- a first arm having a first surface and extending substantially perpendicular to the top surface;
- a second arm having a second surface opposing the first surface and extending substantially perpendicular to the top surface;
- a filament affixed to the first surface and to the second surface and extending therebetween;
- a first cleaning feature disposed on a portion of the first surface and having a plurality of projections;
- and
- a second cleaning feature disposed on a portion of the second surface and having a plurality of projections,
- wherein each of the first arm and the second arm comprises a step taper from a first width at an end proximate to the base portion to a second width at a distal end, and
- wherein each of the first cleaning feature and the second cleaning feature comprises a substantially pyramidic profile comprising an apex, a concave equilateral hexagonal base on a respective one of the first surface and the second surface, and a plurality of spines each extending from the apex to the base.
