A kit and assembly for removing embedded dental roots including the provision of multiple drill sleeves of varying diameter and configurations which drill into the bone around the embedded root in order to progressively shape a retrieval profile surrounding the embedded root to be removed. According to a non-limiting preferred embodiment, a series of three drill sleeves are employed for shaping the profile for subsequent insertion of a uniquely configured retrieval forceps for gripping the embedded root surfaces revealed by the drill rings for easy removal. In this fashion, removal of the embedded root is facilitated without inflicting undue damage to the surrounding bone. As further explained, the kit can be reconfigured as required for removing multiple embedded molar root tips of varying configurations.
