Retractor systems, devices, and methods for use

A system for supporting or moving at least a portion of an internal organ of a patient, the system comprising:

• a retractor comprising a linkage member and a flexible member coupled at a pivot axis, and
• a magnetic control component configured to be placed over a surgical site external to the patient and induce a magnetic field to repel a first portion of the retractor away from the magnetic control component and simultaneously attract a second portion of the retractor toward the magnetic control component, wherein the first and second portions of the retractor are independently movable.

A method for supporting or moving at least a portion of an internal organ of a patient, the method comprising:

• passing a retractor into a body cavity within the patient, the retractor comprising a linkage member and a flexible member coupled at a pivot axis;
• engaging the internal organ with the retractor;
• adjusting a position of the pivot axis relative to a wall of the body cavity using a magnetic control component to simultaneously attract a first portion of the retractor toward the magnetic control element and repel a second portion of the retractor away from the magnetic control element so as to adjust a position of the internal organ, wherein the first and second portions of the retractor are independently movable.
