Abstract
The present invention relates to a computer-implemented medical method, a computer program and a medical system for providing, in a medical environment, an AR-overlay that is projected into the field of view provided by an AR-device as a function of the characteristics of a user's view with respect to an observed object.
Claims17
A computer-implemented method of providing an AR-overlay in a medical environment, the AR-overlay being projected into a field-of-view provided by an AR-device as a function of predefined viewing-characteristics, the method comprising:
- position data is acquired, by at least one processor and describing a spatial position of an object observed through the AR-device relative to a spatial position of the AR-device and/or a spatial position of eyes of a user of the AR-device;
- viewing-characteristics data is determined by at least one processor and based on the position data, describing at least one characteristic of the user's view at the object, including a spatial direction of a visual axis of the AR-device or of a visual axis of the eyes with respect to the object, particularly a horizontal component and/or a vertical component of the spatial direction;
- and
- visualization data is determined by at least one processor and based on the viewing-characteristics data, describing the AR-overlay which is projected into the field-of-view provided by the AR-device, wherein content of the AR-overlay which is positionally registered with the field-of-view provided by the AR-device is changed in correspondence with a change of the at least one characteristic of the user's view;
- wherein the method further comprises:
- determining, by at least one processor, whether to darken out the field-of-view provided by the AR-device except for a defined region of interest, based on the spatial direction of the visual axis of the eyes with respect to the object;
- controlling, by at least one processor, the AR-device to darken out a physical surrounding of the user in response to the spatial direction of the visual axis of the eyes of the user with respect to the object indicates that the eyes are looking at the object, and
- controlling, by at least one processor, an amount of light entering the AR-device to display the physical surrounding of the user in response to the eyes of the user not looking at the object.
A computer-implemented method of providing an AR-overlay in a medical environment, the AR-overlay being projected into a field-of-view provided by an AR-device as a function of predefined viewing-characteristics, the method comprising:
- position data is acquired, by at least one processor and describing a spatial position of an object observed through the AR-device relative to a spatial position of the AR-device and/or a spatial position of eyes of a user of the AR-device;
- viewing-characteristics data is determined by at least one processor and based on the position data, describing at least one characteristic of the user's view at the object;
- and
- visualization data is determined by at least one processor and based on the viewing-characteristics data, describing the AR-overlay which is projected into the field-of-view provided by the AR-device, wherein content of the AR-overlay which is positionally registered with the field-of-view provided by the AR-device is changed in correspondence with a change of the at least one characteristic of the user's view, wherein the content of AR-overlay includes only measurements perpendicular to the visual axis of the AR-device.
A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions which when executed by at least one processor, execute the steps of:
- position data is acquired, describing a spatial position of an object observed through an AR-device relative to a spatial position of the AR-device and/or a spatial position of eyes of a user of the AR-device;
- viewing-characteristics data is determined based on the position data, describing at least one characteristic of the user's view at the object, including a spatial direction of a visual axis of the AR-device or of a visual axis of the eyes with respect to the object, particularly a horizontal component and/or a vertical component of the spatial direction;
- and
- visualization data is determined based on the viewing-characteristics data, describing the AR-overlay which is projected into a field-of-view provided by the AR-device, wherein content of the AR-overlay is positionally registered with the field-of-view provided by the AR-device and is changed in correspondence with a change of the at least one characteristic of the user's view;
- and further the steps of:
- determining whether to darken out the field-of-view provided by the AR-device except for a defined region of interest, based on the spatial direction of the visual axis of the eyes with respect to the object;
- controlling the AR-device to darken out a physical surrounding of the user in response to the spatial direction of the visual axis of the eyes of the user with respect to the object indicates that the eyes are looking at the object;
- and
- controlling an amount of light entering the AR-device to display the physical surrounding of the user in response to the eyes of the user not looking at the object.
