Abstract
A central vacuum cleaning system includes an inlet valve mounted at various locations in a structure or RV and connected to the inlet end of a vacuum conduit. A section of hose is slidably mounted within the conduit and extends from the inlet valve for cleaning an adjacent area. The hose includes a hose plug of cuff connected with a distal end of the hose. The hose plug includes an annular channel and a cam to move a pin or button on the valve. The hose plug or cuff may also include a first seal and a second seal.
Claims20
A device for connection with a hose end, the device comprising:
- a first end opposite a second end defining a longitudinal direction therebetween, and the second end adapted to connect with the hose end, and the device adapted to be coupled with a vacuum valve;
- a longitudinal axis extending from the first end to the second end;
- a cylindrical wall extending longitudinally between the first end and the second end, the cylindrical wall defining an interior bore adapted to receive vacuumed debris therethrough, and the cylindrical wall defining a channel extending at least partially circumferentially around the longitudinal axis;
- and
- a first cam at least partially within the channel and the first cam having a first sloped surface extending along a circumference of the cylindrical wall between an inner cylindrical wall of the channel and an outer apex of the first cam, a second sloped surface extending along the circumference of the cylindrical wall between the inner cylindrical wall of the channel and the outer apex of the first cam, and a convex surface at the outer apex, wherein the first cam is adapted to depress a first button on the vacuum valve;
- wherein the first cam directly extends into the channel from at least one sidewall of the channel.
A device for connection with an end of a vacuum hose, the device comprising:
- a first end opposite a second end defining a longitudinal direction therebetween, and the second end adapted to connect with the end of the vacuum hose, and the device adapted to be coupled with a vacuum valve box;
- a longitudinal axis extending from the first end to the second end;
- a cylindrical wall extending longitudinally between the first end and the second end, the cylindrical wall defining an interior bore adapted to receive vacuumed debris therethrough, and the cylindrical wall defining a channel extending at least partially circumferentially around the longitudinal axis;
- a first cam at least partially within the channel and the first cam having a first sloped surface extending along a circumference of the cylindrical wall between an inner cylindrical wall of the channel and an outer apex of the first cam, a second sloped surface extending along the circumference of the cylindrical wall between the inner cylindrical wall of the channel and the outer apex of the first cam, wherein the first cam directly extends into the channel from at least one sidewall of the channel, wherein the first cam is adapted to depress a first button on the vacuum valve;
- and
- a slot formed in the cylindrical wall in communication with the channel.
A device for connection with a hose end, the device comprising:
- a first end opposite a second end defining a longitudinal direction therebetween, and the second end adapted to connect with the hose end and the first end adapted to connect with a vacuum valve;
- a longitudinal axis extending from the first end to the second end;
- a cylindrical wall extending longitudinally between the first end and the second end, the cylindrical wall defining an interior bore adapted to receive vacuumed debris therethrough, and the cylindrical wall defining a channel extending at least partially circumferentially around the longitudinal axis;
- a first cam at least partially within the channel and having a first sloped wall extending along a circumference of the cylindrical wall between an inner cylindrical wall of the channel wall and a first outer apex, a second sloped wall extending along the circumference of the cylindrical wall between the inner cylindrical wall of the channel and the first outer apex, wherein the first cam directly extends into the channel from at least one sidewall of the channel, wherein the first cam is adapted to depress a first button on the vacuum valve;
- and
- a second cam at least partially within the channel and having a third sloped wall extending along the circumference of the cylindrical wall between the inner cylindrical wall of the channel and a second outer apex, a fourth sloped wall extending along the circumference of the cylindrical wall between the inner cylindrical wall of the channel and the second outer apex, wherein the second cam directly extends into the channel from at least one sidewall of the channel, wherein the second cam is adapted to depress a second button on the vacuum valve.
