Personal protection system including medical garment with a shield

A surgical garment to provide a microbial barrier between a medical environment and a wearer, the surgical garment comprising:

• a first material defining a hood with an opening;
• a transparent face shield disposed within the opening of the hood, the transparent face shield comprising:
• a first surface and an opposing second surface defining a thickness of the transparent face shield;
• and
• an aperture defined in the transparent face shield, the aperture extending the first and second surfaces;
• a first attachment element coupled to the transparent face shield, the first attachment element comprising:
• a head having a proximal surface and an opposed distal surface;
• a retention feature having a proximal surface and a distal surface;
• and
• a post extending through the aperture defined in the transparent face shield, the post connecting the proximal surface of the retention feature and the distal surface of the head;
• and
• wherein an outer dimension of the post is sized relative to an inner dimension of the aperture of the transparent face shield such that the post may pivot relative to the first surface of the face shield when the post is disposed within the aperture of the transparent face shield.

A surgical garment to provide a microbial barrier between a medical environment and a wearer, the surgical garment comprising:

• a hood defining an opening;
• a transparent face shield disposed within the opening of the hood, the transparent face shield comprising:
• a first surface and an opposing second surface defining a thickness of the transparent face shield;
• and
• an aperture defined in the transparent face shield;
• a first attachment element coupled to the transparent face shield, the first attachment element comprising:
• a head;
• a retention feature;
• and
• a post disposed within the aperture of the face shield and extending the retention feature and the head;
• and
• wherein the post comprises a length that is greater than the thickness of the transparent face shield such that one of the retention feature is spaced away from the second surface of the transparent face shield or the head is spaced from the first surface of the transparent face shield.
