Abstract
One or more information maps are obtained by an agricultural work machine. The one or more information maps map one or more agricultural characteristic values at different geographic locations of a field. An in-situ sensor on the agricultural work machine senses an agricultural characteristic as the agricultural work machine moves through the field. A predictive map generator generates a predictive map that predicts a predictive agricultural characteristic at different locations in the field based on a relationship between the values in the one or more information maps and the agricultural characteristic sensed by the in-situ sensor. The predictive map can be output and used in automated machine control.
Claims20
An agricultural work machine comprising:
- a geographic position sensor configured to detect a geographic location of the agricultural work machine in a worksite;
- one or more controllable subsystems;
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions, executable by the one or more processors, that, when executed by the one or more processors, configure the one or more processors to:
- obtain a predictive biomass map that includes predictive biomass values corresponding to different geographic locations across the worksite ahead of the agricultural work machine;
- and
- control the one or more controllable subsystems based on the predictive biomass map and the geographic location of the agricultural work machine.
A computer implemented method of controlling an agricultural work machine, the computer implemented method comprising:
- detecting a geographic location of the agricultural work machine at a worksite;
- obtaining a biomass map having predictive biomass values corresponding to different geographic locations across the worksite ahead of the agricultural work machine;
- controlling the agricultural work machine based on the biomass map and the geographic location of the agricultural work machine.
An agricultural system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions, executable by the one or more processors, that, when executed by the one or more processors, configure the one or more processors to:
- obtain geographic position sensor data indicative of a geographic location of an agricultural work machine in a worksite;
- obtain a predictive biomass map that includes predictive biomass values corresponding to different geographic locations across the worksite ahead of the agricultural work machine relative to a direction of travel of the agricultural work machine
- identify one or more predictive biomass values, from the predictive biomass map, corresponding to one or more geographic locations ahead of the agricultural work machine based on the geographic location of the agricultural work machine;
- and
- control one or more controllable subsystems of the agricultural work machine based on the one or more predictive biomass values corresponding to the one or more geographic locations.
