Display device

A display device comprising:

• a light emitting element, the light emitting element being cylindrically shaped having a length and a diameter, the light emitting element including:
• a first semiconductor layer at a first distal end of the light emitting element;
• a second semiconductor layer at a second distal end of the light emitting element;
• and
• a third semiconductor layer disposed directly between the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer such that the first semiconductor layer, the second semiconductor layer, and the third semiconductor layer are disposed along a straight line;
• a first contact electrode electrically connected to the first semiconductor layer of the light emitting element;
• a second contact electrode electrically connected to the second semiconductor layer of the light emitting element;
• a third contact electrode disposed between the first contact electrode and the second contact electrode and electrically connected to the third semiconductor layer of the light emitting element;
• a first electrode electrically connected to the first contact electrode;
• a second electrode electrically connected to the second contact electrode;
• a third electrode disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and electrically connected to the third contact electrode, the third electrode disposed under the third semiconductor layer so as to overlap the third semiconductor layer, wherein
• the first semiconductor layer of the light emitting element and the second semiconductor layer of the light emitting element are doped with a first dopant having a first polarity, and
• the third semiconductor layer of the light emitting element is doped with a second dopant having a second polarity different from the first polarity, and
• in a plan view, each of the first electrode, the second electrode, and the third electrode extends along one direction, and the first electrode, the second electrode, and the third electrode are spaced apart from each other, and
• in the plan view, the first electrode at least partially overlaps the first semiconductor layer, and
• in the plan view, the second electrode at least partially overlaps the second semiconductor layer, and
• in the plan view, each of the first electrode and the second electrode does not overlap the third semiconductor layer, and
• at least a portion of the light emitting element is interposed between the third electrode and the third contact electrode;
• and
• an integral single-piece insulating film overlapping the first semiconductor layer, the first active layer, the third semiconductor layer, the second active layer, and the second semiconductor layer in the plan view,
• wherein the integral single-piece insulating film includes a contact hole overlapping the third semiconductor layer in the plan view, and
• the third contact electrode overlaps the first semiconductor layer, the second semiconductor layer, and the third semiconductor layer in the plan view, and is electrically connected to the third semiconductor layer through the contact hole.
