Abstract
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system includes receiving, from a base station, configuration information related to a network energy saving (NES) mode, receiving, from the base station, a message indicating a performing the NES mode after a random access (RA) is triggered, and identifying whether at least one resource related to the RA and the NES mode overlap based on the configuration information.

A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a base station, configuration information related to a network energy saving (NES) mode;
- receiving, from the base station, an NES mode start message after a random access (RA) is triggered;
- and
- identifying whether at least one resource related to the RA and the NES mode overlap based on the configuration information.
A method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), configuration information related to a network energy saving (NES) mode;
- and
- transmitting, to the UE, an NES mode start message after a random access (RA) is triggered,
- wherein at least one resource related to the RA and the NES mode overlap is identified based on the configuration information.
A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor operably coupled with the transceiver,
- wherein the transceiver is configured to:
- receive, from a base station, configuration information related to a network energy saving (NES) mode;
- and
- receive, from the base station, an NES mode start message after a random access (RA) is triggered, and
- wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- identify whether at least one resource related to the RA and the NES mode overlap based on the configuration information.
A base station in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- a transceiver operably coupled to the at least one processor, the transceiver configured to:
- transmit, to a user equipment (UE), configuration information related to a network energy saving (NES) mode;
- and
- transmit, to the UE, an NES mode start message after a random access (RA) is triggered,
- wherein at least one resource related to the RA and the NES mode overlap is identified based on the configuration information.
