Abstract
The disclosure relates to: a communication technique for merging an IoT technology with a 5G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate than a 4G system; and a system therefor. The disclosure can be applied to intelligent services (for example, smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart cars or connected cars, healthcare, digital education, retail businesses, security- and safety-related services, and the like) on the basis of a 5G communication technology and an IoT-related technology. The disclosure discloses a method and apparatus for handover of a wireless backhaul node.
Claims11
A method performed by an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a source IAB node, a handover command message indicating a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) handover, wherein the handover command message includes target backhaul adaptation protocol (BAP) configuration information;
- performing a random access procedure to a target IAB node based on the handover command message;
- determining whether the random access procedure to the target IAB node is completed successfully and a first uplink resource is received from the target IAB node,
- based on a determination that the random access procedure to the target IAB node is completed successfully and the first uplink resource is received from the target IAB node, transmitting, to the target IAB node, uplink data based on the target BAP configuration information;
- and
- determining whether downlink data is not received from the source IAB node for a predetermined time,
- releasing a connection with the source IAB node based on a determination that the downlink data is not received from the source IAB node for the predetermined time.
A method performed by a source integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to an IAB node, a handover command message indicating a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) handover, wherein the handover command message includes target backhaul adaptation protocol (BAP) configuration information;
- determining whether a random access procedure from the IAB node to a target IAB node is completed successfully and a first uplink resource is transmitted from the target IAB node to the IAB node,
- based on a determination that the random access procedure from the IAB node to the target IAB node is completed successfully and the first uplink resource is transmitted from the target IAB node to the IAB node, transmitting, to the IAB node, downlink data and stopping a reception of uplink data from the IAB node;
- and
- determining whether the downlink data is not transmitted to the IAB node for a predetermined time,
- releasing a connection with the IAB node based on a determination that the downlink data is not transmitted to the IAB node for the predetermined time.
An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node in a wireless communication system, the IAB node comprising:
- a transceiver configured to transmit or receive a signal;
- and
- a controller connected to the transceiver,
- wherein the controller is configured to:
- receive, from a source IAB node, a handover command message indicating a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) handover, wherein the handover command message includes target backhaul adaptation protocol (BAP) configuration information,
- perform a random access procedure to a target IAB node based on the handover command message,
- determine whether the random access procedure to the target IAB node is completed successfully and a first uplink resource is received from the target IAB node,
- based on a determination that the random access procedure to the target IAB node is completed successfully and the first uplink resource is received from the target IAB node, transmit, to the target IAB node, uplink data based on the target BAP configuration information, and
- determine whether downlink data is not received from the source IAB node for a predetermined time,
- release a connection with the source IAB node based on a determination that the downlink data is not received from the source IAB node for the predetermined time.
A source integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node in a wireless communication system, the IAB node comprising:
- a transceiver configured to transmit or receive a signal;
- and
- a controller connected to the transceiver,
- wherein the controller is configured to:
- transmit, to an IAB node, a handover command message indicating a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) handover, wherein the handover command message includes target backhaul adaptation protocol (BAP) configuration information,
- determine whether a random access procedure from the IAB node to a target IAB node is completed successfully and a first uplink resource is transmitted from the target IAB node to the IAB node,
- based on a determination that the random access procedure from the IAB node to the target IAB node is completed successfully and the first uplink resource is transmitted from the target IAB node to the IAB node, transmit, to the IAB node, downlink data and stop a reception of uplink data from the IAB node, and
- determine whether the downlink data is not transmitted to the IAB node for a predetermined time,
- release a connection with the IAB node based on a determination that the downlink data is not transmitted to the IAB node for the predetermined time.
