Abstract
The present disclosure is related to Multi-Access Management Services (MAMS), which is a programmable framework that provides mechanisms for the flexible selection of network paths in a multi-access (MX) communication environment, based on an application's needs. Generic Multi-Access (GMA) functions are also integrated into the MAMS framework. The present disclosure discusses keep-alive and probing mechanisms, and traffic splitting update techniques. Other implementations may be disclosed and/or claimed.
Claims18
A first multi-access (MX) compute node capable of operating in an MX communication environment, the first MX compute node comprising:
- processor circuitry configured to:
- transmit, over a first radio access technology (RAT1) link, a traffic splitting update (TSU) message to notify a second MX compute node of updated traffic splitting configuration parameters;
- and
- receive, over a second radio access technology (RAT2) link, a traffic splitting acknowledgement (TSA) message from the second MX compute node based on the TSU message;
- wherein:
- the second MX compute node is to determine, based, at least in part, upon sequence number data and other data comprised in the TSU message, a transmission network via which to transmit packet data.
A non-transitory computer readable medium (NTCRM) comprising instructions for operating a first multi-access (MX) compute node in an MX communication environment, wherein execution of the instructions by one or more processors is to result in the first MX compute node being configured to perform operations comprising:
- receive, over a first radio access technology (RAT1) link, a traffic splitting update (TSU) message to notify a second MX compute node of updated traffic splitting configuration parameters;
- and
- transmit, over a second radio access technology (RAT2) link, a traffic splitting acknowledgement (TSA) message from the second MX compute node based on the TSU message;
- wherein:
- the second MX compute node is to determine, based, at least in part, upon sequence number data and other data comprised in the TSU message, a transmission network via which to transmit packet data.
