Abstract
Systems, methods and computer software are disclosed for providing a 5G native architecture. In one embodiment a method includes providing an all G software platform, including a core virtualization stack capable of communication with all hauls, and a radio virtualization stack capable of communication with all cores; and wherein the core virtualization stack communicates with an analytics layer, the analytics layer communicates with an orchestration layer, the orchestration layer communicates with a consolidation layer, and the consolidation layer communicates with the radio virtualization stack such that any G core is able to communicate with any G radio access network.
Claims20
A method for providing a 5G native architecture in a cellular network, comprising:
- providing a coordination node between at least one radio access network (RAN) and at least one core network including a core virtualization stack capable of communication with a plurality of RAN equipment configured with one or more Distributed Unit (DU)/Centralized Unit (CU) protocol splits and a radio virtualization stack capable of communication with a 4G Evolved Packet Network (EPC) core and a 5G standalone (5G SA) core;
- wherein the core virtualization stack communicates with an analytics layer, the analytics layer communicates with an orchestration layer, the orchestration layer communicates with a consolidation layer, and the consolidation layer communicates with the radio virtualization stack such that each of the 4G EPC core and the 5G SA core is able to communicate with each of the plurality of RAN equipment;
- and
- providing, via the coordination node, network slicing to 4G and 5G networks.
A system providing a 5G native architecture, comprising:
- a core virtualization stack capable of communication with a plurality of RAN equipment configured with one or more Distributed Unit (DU)/Centralized Unit (CU) protocol splits, and
- a radio virtualization stack capable of communication with a 4G Evolved Packet Network (EPC) core and a 5G standalone (5G SA) core,
- the core virtualization stack further comprising an analytics layer, an orchestration layer, and a consolidation layer,
- wherein the analytics layer communicates with the orchestration layer, the orchestration layer communicates with the consolidation layer, and the consolidation layer communicates with the radio virtualization stack such that each of the 4G EPC core and the 5G SA core is able to communicate with each of the plurality of RAN equipment;
- and
- wherein a coordination node coordinates network slicing to 4G and 5G networks.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing instructions for providing an all G software platform which, when executed, cause a system to perform steps comprising:
- providing a core virtualization stack capable of communication with a plurality of RAN equipment configured with one or more Distributed Unit (DU)/Centralized Unit (CU) protocol splits and a radio virtualization stack capable of communication with a 4G Evolved Packet Network (EPC) core and a 5G standalone (5G SA) core;
- wherein the core virtualization stack communicates with an analytics layer, the analytics layer communicates with an orchestration layer, the orchestration layer communicates with a consolidation layer, and the consolidation layer communicates with the radio virtualization stack such that each of the 4G EPC core and the 5G SA core is able to communicate with each of the plurality of RAN equipment;
- and
- providing, via a coordination node, network slicing to 4G and 5G networks.
