Redundant transmission of a protected digital and an analog measurement signal

A sensor system, comprising:

• a sensor apparatus comprising:
• a first sensor unit comprising a first sensor configured to measure a measurement parameter in order to obtain a first measurement result, wherein the first sensor unit is configured to generate an analog signal indicative of the first measurement result, and
• a second sensor unit comprising a second sensor configured to measure the measurement parameter in order to obtain a second measurement result, wherein the second sensor unit is configured to generate a digital signal indicative of at least part of the second measurement result;
• a transmission apparatus configured to transmit the analog signal on a first signal transmission path to an evaluation device, and transmit the digital signal on a second signal transmission path to the evaluation device;
• and
• a protection apparatus, comprising a hardware processor, configured to protect the digital signal prior to transmission of the digital signal,
• wherein the second sensor unit is separate from the first sensor unit, and
• wherein the first sensor and the second sensor are structurally identical sensors.

An evaluation device, comprising:

• a reception apparatus configured to:
• receive, from a sensor device, a first analog signal indicative of a first measurement result of a measured measurement parameter and a first protected digital signal indicative of the first measurement result, the first analog signal and the first protected digital signal being associated with a first sensor, and
• receive, from the sensor device, a second analog signal indicative of a second measurement result of the measured measurement parameter and a second protected digital signal indicative of the second measurement result, the second analog signal and the second protected digital signal being associated with a second sensor that is different from the first sensor,
• wherein the first analog signal and the second analog signal are received simultaneously;
• and
• a determination apparatus configured to determine first authenticity information indicative of an authenticity of the first measurement result based on the first analog signal and the first protected digital signal, and determine second authenticity information indicative of an authenticity of the second measurement result based on the second analog signal and the second protected digital signal.
