User equipment and base station involved in resource indication for control channel carrier switching

A base station, comprising:

• circuitry which, in operation, allocates a resource for receiving an uplink control information (UCI) on a component carrier and a reference resource, wherein the resource for transmitting the UCI is determinable by applying a configured resource offset applicable to the component carrier to the reference resource;
• and
• a transceiver which, in operation, transmits an indication of the reference resource and an indication of the component carrier, the indication of the component carrier transmitted dynamically via downlink control information (DCI), wherein
• when the indication of the component carrier indicates a first value, a first component carrier is selected for transmitting the UCI and, when the indication of the component carrier indicates a second value, a second component carrier indicated by a timing pattern of semi-static carrier switching is selected for transmitting the UCI;
• the circuitry, in operation, controls reception of the UCI on the resource for receiving the UCI on the selected component carrier.

A communication method for a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• receiving an indication of a reference resource;
• receiving an indication of a component carrier dynamically via downlink control information (DCI);
• determining whether the indication of the component carrier indicates a first value or a second value, wherein the first value indicates a first component carrier and the second value indicates semi-static carrier switching;
• when the indication of the component carrier indicates the first value, selecting the first component carrier for transmitting an uplink control information (UCI);
• when the indication of the component carrier indicates the second value, selecting a second component carrier indicated by a timing pattern of the semi-static switching for transmitting the UCI;
• selecting, based on a configuration or a UE capability, a resource offset applicable to the selected component carrier;
• determining a resource for transmitting the UCI by applying the resource offset to the reference resource;
• and
• controlling transmission of the UCI on the selected component carrier and on the determined resource.
