Assisted multi-user multi-input multi-output (MU-MIMO) communication system

One or more non-transitory, computer-readable media comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of an electronic device, cause the one or more processors to:

• cause a network interface coupled to the one or more processors to send a first signal from an access point of a wireless communication system, wherein the first signal is received using a first channel;
• determine one or more clients;
• cause the network interface to send a second signal to a first client of the one or more clients;
• receive, using the network interface, first protocol data from the first client using the first channel while receiving, using the network interface, first sensor data from a second client using a second channel;
• cause the network interface to send a third signal to the second client of the one or more clients;
• receive, using the network interface, second protocol data from the second client using the first channel while receiving, using the network interface, second sensor data from the first client using a third channel;
• and
• form a group based on the first protocol data, the second protocol data, the first sensor data, and the second sensor data.

A method to form a set of groups of a network, comprising:

• broadcasting, from an access point of the network, sounding packets to a plurality of client devices of the network using a channel of the network;
• receiving, at the access point, a protocol packet from a first client device of the plurality of client devices using the channel of the network, wherein the protocol packet is sent by the first client device in response to at least one of the sounding packets received by the first client device;
• receiving, at the access point, sensor data from a second client device of the plurality of client devices using an alternative channel of the network, wherein the sensor data is sent by the second client device in response to the at least one of the sounding packets received by the second client device;
• forming, using the access point, a group with the first client device and the second client device based at least on the received protocol packet from the first client device and the sensor data from the second client device;
• and
• adjusting, using the access point, the group based on a change in the received protocol packet.
