Communication system, storage medium, and communication method

A communication method executed by a communication system including a plurality of roadside communication devices installed in respective areas, each of the plurality of roadside communication devices including circuitry, and a terminal to which the plurality of roadside communication devices are connected, the method comprising:

• acquiring travel information about a vehicle through radio communication from at least one of the plurality of roadside communication devices;
• predicting a roadside communication device, among the plurality of roadside communication devices, that is installed in an intended area where the vehicle is predicted to travel;
• predicting an arrival time at the intended area based on the acquired travel information;
• and
• executing control as a control plane to manage communication through the roadside communication device and the terminal by, prior to the predicted arrival time, constructing a communication path between the predicted roadside communication device and the terminal, including, by a server and before the vehicle enters a communicable area of the predicted roadside communication device, updating a routing table of the terminal to route traffic to the predicted roadside communication device, and allocating radio resources to the predicted roadside communication device for uninterrupted vehicle communication.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program where a computer incorporated in a communication system to execute a method, the communication system including a plurality of roadside communication devices installed in respective areas, each of the plurality of roadside communication devices including circuitry and a terminal to which the plurality of roadside communication devices are connected, the method comprising:

• acquiring travel information about a vehicle through radio communication from at least one of a plurality of roadside communication devices;
• predicting a roadside communication device, among the plurality of roadside communication devices, that is installed in an intended area where the vehicle is predicted to travel;
• predicting an arrival time at the intended area based on the acquired travel information;
• and
• executing control as a control plane to manage communication through the roadside communication device and the terminal by, prior to the predicted arrival time, constructing a communication path between the predicted roadside communication device and the terminal, including, by a server and before the vehicle enters a communicable area of the predicted roadside communication device, updating a routing table of the terminal to route traffic to the predicted roadside communication device, and allocating radio resources to the predicted roadside communication device for vehicle communication.
