Abstract
Systems and techniques are described for image processing. For example, a computing device can encode one or more fingers of five fingers of a hand with a code, wherein the code corresponds to a position associated with the one or more fingers making the hand gesture. The computing device can determine a classification for the hand gesture, wherein the classification comprises the code associated with the one or more fingers of the hand.

An apparatus for classifying a hand gesture, the apparatus comprising:
- at least one memory;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the at least one memory and configured to:
- encode each finger of five fingers of a hand making the hand gesture with a respective code value corresponding to a respective position of each finger;
- generate a code comprising the respective code value for each finger of the five fingers in an order corresponding to the five fingers of the hand;
- and
- determine a classification for the hand gesture based on the generated code, wherein the classification comprises the generated code associated with the five fingers of the hand.

A method for classifying a hand gesture, the method comprising:
- encoding, by one or more processors, each finger of five fingers of a hand making the hand gesture with a respective code value corresponding to a respective position of each finger;
- generating a code comprising the respective code value for each finger of the five fingers in an order corresponding to the five fingers of the hand;
- and
- determining, by the one or more processors, a classification for the hand gesture based on the generated code, wherein the classification comprises the generated code associated with the five fingers of the hand.
