System and method for utilizing search trees and tagging data items for data collection managing tasks

A non-transient computer-readable medium containing computer-readable instructions, wherein the computer-readable instructions, when executed by a computer processor, perform a method for presenting:

• a search tree of a storage tree associated with a collection of data items, the search tree incorporates at least one parent search tree mode, the at least one parent search tree node having;
• one or more sorted search child tree nodes and one or more unsorted child search tree nodes, wherein the at least one parent search tree node comprises a search query parameter, the search query parameter corresponding to a search query of one of more terms or non-term conditions for searching through the storage tree associated with the collection of data items and for providing a search result set of data items identified by the one or more terms or non-term conditions, and a search result parameter, the search result parameter corresponding to the search result set of data items identified by the search query,
• wherein each of the one or more sorted child search tree nodes comprises a search query parameter, the search query parameter corresponding to a search query of one of more terms of non-term conditions for searching through the storage tree associated with the collection of data items and for providing a search result set of data items identified by the one or more terms or non-term conditions, and a search result parameter, the search result parameter corresponding to the search result set of data items identified by the search query of the sorted child search tree node;
• and wherein each of the one or more
• unsorted child search tree nodes comprises a search query parameter, the search query parameter corresponding to a search query for providing a search result set of data items that belong to the search result set of data items of the at least one parent search tree node and do not belong to any of the search result sets of data items of the one or more sorted child search tree nodes, and a search result parameter, the search result parameter corresponding to the search result set of data items that belong to the search result set of data items of the at least one parent search tree node and do not belong to any one of the search result sets of data items of the one or more sorted child search tree nodes;
• and
• wherein a standalone representation of at least one of the one or more unsorted child search tree nodes in the form of the search result set of data items of the at least one of the one or more unsorted child search tree nodes is automatically generated and incorporated in a representation of the at least one parent search tree node of the search tree within a single displayed presentation.

A computer system for generating a search tree representation, the system comprising:

• a non-transient computer memory storing at least one storage tree and at least one associated collection of data items;
• and
• at least one processor in communication with the non-transient computer memory;
• wherein the non-transient computer memory comprises instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, carry out a method for presenting, a search tree of the storage tree associated with the collection of data items, the search tree incorporates at least one parent search tree node, the at least one parent search tree node having;
• one or more sorted child search tree nodes and one or more unsorted child search tree nodes, wherein the at least one parent search tree node comprises a search query parameter, the search query parameter corresponding to a search query of one or more terms of non-term conditions for searching through the storage tree associated with the collection of data items and for providing a search result set of data items identified by the one or more terms or non-term conditions, and a search result parameter, the search result parameter corresponding to the search result set of data items identified by the search query;
• wherein each of the one or more sorted child search tree nodes comprises a search query parameter, the search query parameter corresponding to a search query of one or more terms of non-term conditions for searching through the storage tree associated with the collection of data items and for providing a search result set of data items identified by the one or more terms or non-term conditions, and a search result parameter, the search result parameter corresponding to the search result set of data items that belong to the search result identified by the search query of the sorted child search tree node;
• and wherein each of the one or more
• unsorted child search tree nodes comprises a search query parameter, the search query parameter corresponding to a search query for providing a search result set of data items that belong to the search result set of data items of the at least one parent search tree node and do not belong to any of the search result sets of data items of the one of more sorted child search tree nodes, and search result parameter, the search result parameter corresponding to the search result set of data items that belong to the search result set of data items of the at least one parent search tree node and do not belong to any the search result sets of data items of one or more sorted child search tree nodes, and
• wherein a standalone representation of at least one of the one or more unsorted child search tree nodes in the form of the search result set of data items of the at least one of the one or more unsorted child search tree nodes is automatically generated and incorporated in a representation of the at least one parent search tree node of the search tree within a single displayed presentation.
