Abstract
A system including a quantum component and a classical component, the classical component including a compilation module and a quantum controller can be configured to perform obtain a task and perform a quantum computation. The task can specify a set of basis functions defined over an input domain and a selection of a set of quantum gates, the quantum gates being defined over an input domain. Performance of the quantum computation can include determining, by the compilation module, first sequences of quantum gates, applying, by the quantum controller, the first sequences of quantum gates to the quantum component, measuring, by the quantum controller, resulting state information of the quantum component for the first sequences of quantum gates, and providing the resulting state information.
