Spectrometer method and apparatus

A spectrometer module comprises:

• at least one electronic circuit module comprising a light sensitive area for detecting incident light of a plurality of wavelengths within a set wavelength interval, wherein detected light of a plurality of wavelengths forms spectral data and the light sensitive area includes a plurality of light detectors, wherein each light detector of the plurality of light detectors is configured to detect light of a selected wavelength;
• a memory adapted to store calibration data;
• and
• a processing unit configured to correct the spectral data using the stored calibration data,
• wherein the stored calibration data includes a relative light sensitivity for each light detector of the plurality of light detectors wherein the wavelength detected by each light detector has a known relationship to a wavelength detected by a reference light detector.

A method comprising:

• storing, in memory, calibration data for correcting spectral data;
• detecting, by an electronic circuit module, incident light, wherein the electronic circuit module includes a light sensitive area configured to detect light of a plurality of wavelengths within a set wavelength interval, wherein detected light of a plurality of wavelengths forms spectral data and the light sensitive area includes a plurality of light detectors, wherein a light detector of the plurality of light detectors is configured to detect light of a selected wavelength;
• and
• correcting, by a processing unit, spectral data using the calibration data, wherein the calibration data includes information representative of a relative light sensitivity for correcting a wavelength detected by each light detector of the plurality of light detectors, wherein the wavelength detected by each light detector has a known relationship to a wavelength detected by a reference light detector.
