Techniques for distribution network event correlation and localization comprising receiving alarm data, event data, and hierarchical data. Identifying, based at least in part on the alarm data, the event data, and the hierarchical relationship data, a correlation between alarms or events detected by or delivered to the system, wherein the alarms or the events resulted in an event that propagated across the system, and the event generated alarms detected by a plurality of sensors in the system. Determining a location of the event based at least in part on the correlation, first and second time series data associated with first and second sensors, and the hierarchical relationship; then displaying descriptive information identifying the location of the event and one or more response tools for responding to the event.
