Automated pet entry system

An automated entry system comprising:

• means for providing an ingress and/or egress for a pet;
• means for detecting a presence of a pet;
• means for identifying the pet;
• means for attaching said pet identifying means to the pet;
• means for initiating an activation of said pet presence detecting means;
• wherein an activation of said pet detecting means comprises at least one of bumping, brushing and touching of said means for initiating an activation of said pet presence detecting means;
• wherein said pet identifying means is within a detection zone of said pet detecting means;
• wherein said pet identifying means comprises means for communicating with said pet presence detecting means;
• wherein said means for communicating include;
• means for processing wireless key signals from said pet identifying means;
• means for scanning for wireless key signals;
• means for receiving wireless key signals;
• and
• means for validating or authenticating the wireless key signal received;
• means for determining a distance of said pet detecting means and pet identifying means, with one or more RSSI parameter(s), established on the wireless key signal being valid;
• means for receiving a door open or close command, wherein the door open or close command is received predicated on said pet detecting means and pet identifying means being within a predetermined proximity range;
• wherein said pet detecting means is configured to determine an elapsed time of not receiving an authentic or valid wireless key signal;
• and
• means for ending the scanning for wireless key signals after a predetermined amount of elapsed time is reached of not receiving an authentic or valid wireless key signal.

A process executable with one or more processors comprising the steps of:

• determining, with a trigger device, if at least one of a touch sensor, motion sensor, and button sensor has been triggered or activated;
• activating or waking at least one processor if at least one of the touch sensor, proximity sensor, motion sensor, and button sensor has been triggered or activated;
• determining an elapsed time after at least one of the touch sensor, motion sensor, and button sensor has been triggered and/or activated;
• scanning for a wireless key signal from a tag, on the basis of the activation of said trigger device;
• receiving the wireless key signal from the tag;
• validating or authenticating the wireless key signal received from the tag;
• evaluating, with one or more RSSI parameter(s), a distance of the tag to a wireless key receiver, wherein the one or more RSSI parameter(s) is/are included in the received wireless key signal;
• confirming if the distance of the tag is within a predetermined distance or proximity range to said wireless key receiver predicated on the received wireless key signal being valid;
• sending a door open command to a door controller in light of the tag being within the predetermined distance or proximity range to said wireless key receiver;
• and
• determining an elapsed time of not receiving an authentic or valid wireless key signal;
• and
• ending the scanning for wireless key signal after a predetermined amount of elapsed time is reached of not receiving an authentic or valid wireless key signal.
