Abstract
A method may include introducing a breaker fluid into a wellbore having a filter-cake on the walls therein, wherein the breaker fluid comprises an organic peroxide; an aqueous solution; an enzyme; and a chelating agent; wherein the breaker fluid degrades a filter-cake along the wellbore wall in the subterranean formation.
Claims16
A breaker fluid comprising:
- an organic peroxide comprising tert-butyl-hydroperoxide, wherein the organic peroxide is present in an amount between 0.1% by volume and 10% by volume of the breaker fluid;
- an aqueous solution;
- an enzyme, wherein the enzyme is present in an amount between 1% by volume and 10% by volume of the breaker fluid;
- and
- a chelating agent,
- wherein the breaker fluid is dispersed in a subterranean formation,
- wherein the organic peroxide and the enzyme of the breaker fluid are configured to work in tandem to degrade a filter-cake along a wellbore wall in the subterranean formation,
- wherein the filter-cake is formed from a water-based drilling fluid and comprises starch, and
- wherein the organic peroxide alone is ineffective to remove the starch and the enzyme is configured to catalyze hydrolysis of the starch in the presence of the organic peroxide.
