Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods of synthesizing poly(ester urea)s, such as via the method exemplified by the scheme set forth below:
Claims24
A method of synthesizing a poly (ester urea) (PEU) comprising:
- a. providing an amino acid alkyl ester or amino acid alkyl ester hydrochloride;
- b. reacting the amino acid with triphosgene in the presence of an amine base to produce an diester urea;
- and
- c. reacting the diester urea with a diol to produce the PEU.
