Abstract
The present invention refers to a process for the catalytic glycosylation of arenes which allows, amongst others, the expeditious synthesis of the nucleoside analogue GS-441524 of the antiviral prodrug remdesivir.
Claims14
A process for the glycosylation of an arene comprising reacting a monosaccharide with a silylating agent in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst and with an aromatic hydrocarbon selected from arenes or heteroarenes, each optionally bearing one or more substituents, and thereby introducing one or more silyl groups to the monosaccharide followed by removing the one or more silyl groups to yield a nucleoside analogue.
