Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of treatment for chronic pain, opioid dependence, alcohol use disorder or autism using a class of pyrimidinone compounds, an adenylyl cyclase 1 (AC1) inhibitor. The invention described herein also pertains to pharmaceutical compositions and methods for treating diseases in mammals using those compounds disclosed herein.

A compound having a formula (I)
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein
- R1 is a hydrogen or C1-C12 alkyl;
- alkenyl, alkynyl, heteroalkyl, heteroalkenyl, heteroalkynyl, cycloalkyl, heterocyloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, heterocycloakenyl, heterocyclyl, an optionally substituted aryl, arylalkyl, arylalkenyl;
- and
- R2 is a C1-C12 alkyl;
- and
- R3 is an acyl, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, heteroalkyl, heteroalkenyl, heteroalkynyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, heteroarylalkyl, heterocyloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, heterocycloakenyl, heterocyclyl, or an optionally substituted aryl, arylalkyl, or arylalkenyl where the compound is selected from the group consisting of
