Abstract
The invention provides a composite metal oxide with excellent anion adsorption, which can remove multiple different anions each with a high adsorption rate for removal. Disclosed is a composite metal oxide represented by formula (1). The composite metal oxide has a solid base content of 3.70 mmol/g or higher. ( Mg 1 - x Al x ) O 1 + x / 2 ( 1 ) In formula (1), x is a number satisfying the inequality 0.18≤x≤0.45.
