Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a method for producing high-purity lithium hydroxide from a lithium-containing waste liquid of a spent lithium secondary battery.
Claims6
A method for producing lithium hydroxide, the method comprising:
- recovering one or more types of metal salts selected from among manganese, nickel, and cobalt from a spent lithium secondary battery to obtain a lithium (a single dash) containing waste liquid;
- obtaining aqueous lithium sulfate solution from the lithium-containing waste liquid;
- and
- obtaining lithium hydroxide by reacting the aqueous lithium sulfate solution with calcium hydroxide,
- wherein the method does not include the step of adding barium hydroxide, and
- wherein the aqueous lithium sulfate solution obtained from the lithium-containing waste liquid has a pH of 6 or less.
